Clearly, THIS is not a solution...

Better still...
I think his girlfriend approves...

My wish for a better world of work...
We should all be so lucky.
Have a wonderful Labour Day Weekend!

OMG - I almost choked on my peach at the last pic. ROFL.
Funniest thing I've read/heard/seen all weekend (and I've been power-watching Burn Notice :D).. thanks for that post. Even though my weekend is amost over.
Hope you're enjoying yours :D
Thanks TTN!Glad you liked it! :D
Excellent, inventive, gave me a belly laugh!
Oh my gosh, Richard in The Office? Hilarious thought!
Haha. Love it! :)
Lovely, oh, to have a boss like him:D
I like his improved manners and I did love that scene with Thornton and the little boy!
Not sure if I like the pic of RA as Michael or if I'm creeped out by it!
@ my loyal commenters -- Thanks! Always happy to give a laugh!
@Charleybrown -- Yeah, the pic of Richard in Michael's head IS a bit creepy! I had a lot of trouble aligning RA's face as Michael's ears seem too big. (Not flattering -- but oh well!)
So funny. If he were my boss, nothing would get accomplished.
Hilarious!
Alas I have a girlfriend who couldn't get past the beating up scene and continued to think of him as a b$st$rd!
@littlevictories-- Welcome to my little tribute to RA goodness in the blog world! I agree, it would be difficult to concentrate on getting any work done! ;)
@iz4blue -- More's the pity for that silly girlfriend of yours. You should get her to read the book first. There's no scene like that in it. Then after she understands what Thornton is all about, she should try the miniseries again. She doesn't know what she is missing!
Ha! That was ingenious and lovely. Can't think of a better way to celebrate Labour Day. The last pic? ROFL! Weirdly cute.
What a great post!
And I could actually see RA in the Office, doing a role like Jim (in the US version, I forgot what the character's name is in the UK version).
I think RA with his facial expressions would be so good in a comedic role, where he says so much just by raising his eyebrows :)
LOL, Happy Labor Day!
Was Thornton in charge when the Pullman Strike of 1884 exploded? lol
All I can say is :)
Literally Laughed OUT LOUD when I saw that last pic!
Thanks for the laugh!
@all you kind commenters....All I can say is this started out as a lengthy, somewhat analytical and historical post, and then I threw it all out and this is what I ended up with! That is, once I did the Face-in-a-hole, I couldn't stop laughing long enough to be serious!
Oh Phylly!
This last image is a corker! Is it a photomanip? Or will Mr. Armtiage be tortured with it in his career retrospectives from now on? It just goes to show that lighting and a photographer's skill does matter when your subject has strong features like RA does. Even so, he has a winning smile-despite him seeming to channel Steve Carrell from The Office. Ha!
Cheers! Gratiana
@gratiana -- Definitely a photomanip. You can see the Face in Hole Logo on the bottom of the picture. You may notice (if you visit here frequently) I use that free ap quite often on this blog. :)
You have a great sense of timing. Here I was, innocently moving down the page, watching Thornton become kinder and gentler and then BAM! You hit us with that LOL manip! Well-done, you! :D
Awww shucks bccmee! :) Glad you liked it!
