Here are some of my favourites:
Richard being HOT
Richard being COOL
Richard lighting up a room
I appreciate the effort that the fan known as ArmitageWatch and her friends have done recently to keep us all engaged. The Global Watch of North and South last weekend was well planned and went off without any trouble. There are plans to continue this weekend with Robin Hood and Spooks. See the calendar here.
We can't be blamed for thinking Richard might be hiding from us a bit. In fact, it's been noticed from the beginning. If I hadn't circled him, finding RA in this Hobbit group photo can be almost as hard as finding Waldo.
In fact this next video, in which someone impersonating Werner Herzog does an amazing job of narrating the Where's Waldo? picture book, reminds me very much of the whole "where is Armitage?"controversy.
If you are the competitive type and want another challenge,
you should really try the game Tanni Tani created for his birthday.
You click on him every time he pops up and he gets a kiss! Click here to play!
What do you think? Is RA purposely playing hard to get? Does he need his time to stay "in character" as Thorin and find it hard to be himself? Is he just being his shy self?

Great post Phylly! I don't know if he's playing us or if PJ's playing us. But ARGGGGHHH!
@NovemberBride - I know! I feel the same frustration. I hope he surfaces a lot this summer so we don't have to wait until December.
I guess it is tactic to make us the more eager to watch "The Hobbit".
It works even on me as non-Hobbit fan ;o)
Love the post! But I don't think he's hiding. I think we are spoiled. LOL!
Hi Phylly!
I hesitate between genuine admiration and...irritation(the latter sensation dominates),temporarily I hope.;)
any fan who would jump ship is not a true fan at all.
I agree with Mrs. Higgins and with RAFrenzy.
A fan who "jumps ship" is not a real fan.
(and then there is my own "issues" with the "fan"-word...)
I think Richard is just busy creating a great film (and two of them), and living his life.
And I wouldn't be surprised if he sends another message once he gets back to London and there apologizes for not being in touch (not that he needs to...)
Or maybe we will see some more of him in the next videoblog. ;)
Peter Jackson did say there will be another (or a last one?) pretty soon.
Hello Phylly :) As I see You can't wait to see Richard in his own body again :) Well last time when he was in his own looking was on Captain America Premiere almost year ago.
I suspect that it not PJ's intent to promote a "star" in the Tolkien series. Simply to make the best use of individual talents in ensemble films. Mind you, he could have made RA look much uglier with prosthetics! He has rather capitalised on the fundamental RA looks...

I agree that I don't think he's hiding. It's different when you're in tv, the publicity machine keeps you in the public eye because they want the audience to be constantly reminded to watch. If he hadn't been on tv all this time, we might have had much less information about him and his activities, anyway. And if he's going to have a film career, given the different PR demands and the fact that he's not a self-aggrandizer or someone who seems to want to attract publicity, we can probably expect that the situation of the last year or so will be more the norm than the exception.
Also, I think however fans behave as long as they are not endangering him is fine. If people take a break from Armitage because there's not much news about him, and come back when there is, or lose interest, I think that's pretty much up to them. This isn't a religion and there are no points for fidelity.
I think there will more RA as PJ ramps up the publicity machine, after all the film fine-tuning. Doubtful that he will be promoted as THE STAR - it will be whatever Mr. A brings to the publicity, and post film release, to the audience reaction. Whatever, it is probably the landmark N&S was to the TV career, that Hobbit will bring more opportunities to the actor.

Thanks everyone for the excellent comments! I turned off this blog`s option for nested comments so my replies will have to be here. (Apparently Blogger will load better that way!)
@C.Doart- I only read The Hobbit recently but I really enjoyed it -especially because I was visualizing RA as Thorin! :)
@RAFrenzy - We ARE spoiled, but I still think he's enjoying flying under the RAdar. :)
@Joanna - I feel your pain - but I am not irritated because there are so many fan bloggers (can I call them "floggers"?) out there who keep creating admiRAble content. :)
@Mrs. Higgins - Certainly they are not as addicted as we are, hmmm? But don't worry - they'll be back!
@Benita - I think you are right - both about the fact that he is just going about his business, and I also think we might be lucky enough to get another message soon.
@Jonia - While I do like him in his beard, I would be very happy to see him clean shaven. Servetus and Zelda have made me appreciate his jawline.
@fitzg - And I am eternally grateful to PJ and the makeup crew for not obscuring RA's very expressive physiognomy.
@Servetus- Excellent point that his TV roles necessitated a more public role for him. As he is surfacing for Comic Con I am thinking that there will soon be more public appearances for The Hobbit.
@fitzg - I agree. The Hobbit is such a huge opportunity that his sojourn in NZ will probably be his last experience of relative obscurity. (Unless he gets very good at disguises!) :)
I agree with what has already been said. I think he's just keeping really busy with filming and also, that it's different when it's a film and not TV.
And technically, this is probably more like the calm before the storm. Once The Hobbit is out, he's going to get a LOT more attention than he's ever had from us lot.
@Traxy - How right you are. I almost pity him - but I am also glad because I am greedy to see more of him!
Now that The Hobbit has wrapped we should see more of RA. The wrap party was yesterday was it not? Now it is time for Richard to get back to London.
I wonder of he already has his next project lined up; I mean besides promoting The Hobbit.
He's going to Comic-Con! :D
