How I've changed!

Richard Armitage, since I started watching you at your work, I marvel at how much you have changed me!

Mama's boys never appealed to me

Until I met John Thornton!

Country bumpkins were never my thing...

Until I saw John Standring.

I thought speedos were tacky
I didn't know how wrong I could be!

I didn't used to like the bad guys...

But that was before I met this Guy! (of Gisborne)

and John Mulligan

I never thought I could still love a hero who really wasn't one at all.
John Bateman (previously known as Lucas North), Spooks/MI-5 Series 9
Wrong again!

I never went to a movie before just to watch the bad guy's 4 minute performance...
Heinz Kruger in Captain America
But it was the best 4 minutes in the whole movie!!

I especially didn't like tattoos!
Then I saw this

I never thought gun toting guys looked hot...

well, at least John Porter was the hero!

I was never much for beards
Project Magazine photo shoot
until I saw him with this!

I've never felt an attraction to hairy dwarves either,

Of course that has now changed too!

I surrender Mr. Armitage.  You can make me like anything!
Now ... if only you could cure my allergies!

Never a truer word written!! This made me chuckle cos it's all so true, it's like your reading my mind ☺

LOL! Thanks for commenting! I am sure there are some out there who like tattoos and guys with guns already. You will notice I didn't include Monet's bad hair, moustaches, etc. because they didn't really bother me like they do some people.

This is great and so very true! His charm is disarming.

So where will he take us next, after beards and dwarves?

LOL... I loved your post... It's really true!!!

Thanks Fabo! I certainly hope he gets to do something romantic again at last - where he's the good guy - and he doesn't die!!

Hi Luciana! We really do agree on so many things! :)

That made me smile--well put!

Glad to make you smile Jane! :)

Lovely, lovely post!
Guess what?
I agree with you. I never thought I'd read Chris Ryan or be eagerly waiting for one of Peter Jackson's movies, nor striving to find some time to read Tolkien's The Hobbit (I've always avoided that,since... not my cup of tea). Does this mean Mr Armitage can be very dangerous??? :O

Hi Phylly,
I can relate with all your changes too! Just one more: I never liked Bernard Cornwell's works until listen The Lords Of The North read by Richard Armitage. Actually, he can read my recipes book and still charm me with his voice, LOL.

I agree. Chris Ryan's book wouldn't have been a natural choice for me either, but I enjoyed it. As for The Hobbit, as I said in my post - it made it easier to read when I imagined Thorin as the hero, rather than the hairy-footed Bilbo. I really enjoyed it once I finally read it and I plan to reread it before I see the movie.
As for RA being dangerous... well, I suppose he IS! Didn't someone say they almost got in an accident from starring at a Strike Back billboard as they were driving? :D

That's right! I forgot to mention audio books! I never had any use for them before I heard him as Lord Damerel in Georgette Heyer's Venetia. But that must be another post! :)

Sweet. I can so identify.

We're all in this together! :D

There is something remarkable about Richard Armitage's talent and the way he makes less-desirable characters somehow appealing.

That was fantastic! (and many were true for me too!)
I too went to CA just to see RA play the baddie. No RA no CA for me ;)
I also went to see the Russell Crowe version of Robin Hood JUST because Matthew Macfadyen was the Sherriff....and like the TV version of RH I was cheering for the baddies. LOL

I will be going to see both The Hobbit movies for one reason and only one ReAson...

Phylly3 said...

Exactly! I wish I'd said that! He can bring out the better qualities in any character he plays, so that they are much more believable as "real" people. :)

Phylly3 said...

I would not want to miss The Hobbit for any reason, but to have RA in such a major role... it is the icing on the cake for me! :)

Faboamanto, he could play Crippen? Jack the Ripper? Lovely post, Phylly!

I feel quite sure that RA could play such unsavoury characters and imbue them with enough humanity that one could not help but feel empathy for them. That, said... please, no more bad guys!!

Agree here. Never liked bad boys. Thought girls who did were just asking for a miserable life. Guy certainly changed my attitude.

Phylly3 said...

Hi Beverly! Nice to hear your thoughts. I do agree however, I think I still would avoid bad boys in real life. In my fantasy life I do still hold out hope that I could be the one to reform [him] (insert Guy or John Mulligan).

Awww, too cute, Phylly! Love love love this! And it's all right on the money...bad boys, mama's boys,speedos..well tbh, I still don't like speedos but your take is funny!!

Phylly3 said...

Thanks NovemberBride! Yes, it definitely matters who is "in" the speedo! :D
